Turkish Super League just started a week ago. That's why players were having lack of match fitness against Iceland last night. But before the game both players and the coach were saying they were expecting a win but it didn't happen. Turkey played a friendly against Denmark before the Iceland game. And at the second half of that game Turkey played birilliant. That was the reason why Turkish players had hope.

Another important point of the game was first choice goalkeeper Volkan Demirel were out of the squad because of the coach Fatih Terim's decision. Trabzonspor's goalkepper Onur Kivrak played instead of Demirel and he had very important mistakes.

Turkey played like a very weak team against Iceland. They were like Avellino against Juventus.

First serious oportunity from Iceland cam at 14th minute. Bödvarsson headed the ball and it was off the post. After 4 minutes at 18th minute Bödvarsson found the goal by a good header and that was score of the first half. At the first time Turkey found two chances by long range shoots but they were not good enough to be a goal.

Turkey's bad game did continue in the second half. They started the second half with red card. At 59'th minute Toprak was out of the game with red card and they lost all their hope after that. Turkey's resistance finished at 76'th minute by Sigurdsson's goal. And after 1 minute Sigthorsson scored and that was the score: Iceland 3-0 Turkey.
