8th of September Ukrainian national team started in the match against Slovakia in the qualifying round to Euro-2016. Our site offers you a report about this game.


 Before the game with Slovakia Ukrainian fans were very optimistic and hoped fae the successful result. Mikhail Fomenko works with the team very good. He had inflicted the only defeat before. Unfortunately on Monday Ukrainian national team had its worst matches the leadership of this coach.
From the very beginning fussiness and indecision were shown in the play of the team. Most probably, the reason was in the absence of 5 players of squad in the field. Being injured the match with Slovakia was missed by: Evgeniy Konoplyanka («Dnipro»), Anatoliy Timoschuk («Zenit» ), Evgeniy Khacheridi («Dynamo»), Denys Garmash («Dynamo») and Ruslan Rotan («Dnipro»). They were substituted by five freshmen, who had been sent by coaching staff: Evgeniy Shakhov («Dnipro»), Artem Gromov («Vorskla»), Kirill Kovalchuk («Chornomorets»), Pavel Rebenok («Metalist») and Pylyp Budkivskiy («Zorya»).
Ukrainians could not pluck up for a long time and Slovakia’s team ably embraced an opportunity. Along 18th minute the Yan Kozak’s wards fortunated to score Andrey Pyatov’s goal. Robert Mak outplayed Yaroslav Rakitskiy and easily filled up a gap in the net of Ukrainian national team’s goalkeeper.
After a conceded goal the attack was thwarted, and only in the end of the first half a few nerve-bending moments were created. During whole second half Slovaks defended in depth and the home team tried to equalize. Alas! But Andriy Yarmolenko, Roman Zozulya and Oleg Gusev played very badly, not having shown their level of game. The substitutions made by Fomenko were not useful, as well. Roman Bezus and debutant of the team Artem Gromov could not qualitatively refresh the game. The third substitution was not made by Ukrainian coach for some reason. In my opinion, Roman Zozulya should be substituted by Aleksandr Gladkiy or young talented Pylyp Budkivskiy.
At the last minutes of the match Ukrainian national team got an opportunity for corner kick. Andrey Pyatov goalkeeper of the team, run in the penalty zone to help his team and could score a goal. To all Ukrainian fans disappointment referee of the match Craig Thomson from Scotland set offence to Slovakia national team’s goalkeeper and annulled a goal. After that the final whistle sounded and it fixed the defeat of Ukrainian national team. Now coaching staff should make correction of mistakes to let the team show its best football in the follow-up games.
