Nazionali: Qualifiers for the European Championship: Poland vs Gibraltar
First of all, I must point out that Poland has almost 657 000 official footballers. I want you to imagine, right now, 657 000 official footballers versus 30 000 residents of little country. Sounds like joke, but it’s true. If Poland won’t score 3 or more goals, it will be real disaster. If Poland draw with their opponent it will it will be huge humiliation and the embarrassment of it all.
But… White Eagles in last few months play completely below their expectations. They have enormous problem with scoring goals. Of course, they have well-known names for example Lewandowski (Bayern Monchen), Szczesny (Arsenal Londyn) and Krychowiak (Sevilla FC), but they aren’t authentic team. All of them are great players with fantastic skills… in clubs, but when they play together, I mean – when they play for country - there is big problem. Two coaches tried to solve the problem, but they were fired. Is new boss of Poland national team, Adam Nawalka good person to make difference? Who knows…
In spite of
this problems, in spite of injured of key players (Lukas Piszczek, Kuba
Blaszczykowski – both Borussia Dortmund), Poland is the only one favorite.
Okay, so at the begging, I mentioned, that this favorite has to be focus on. I
stand by this idea, because Gibraltar “footballers” in their short football
history were managing draw with Slovakia, Estonia, and even win with Malta.
Organizer
of Euro 2012 has to forget that are playing versus fire-fighter (goalkeeper, Jordan
Perez), forensic biologist (defender, David Artell) and school teacher
(striker, Adam Priestley). They have to forget about it, because they cannot be
afraid of lose with amateurs. They have to be confident and united to beat
outsiders. Otherwise, Gibraltar players will be grasped the opportunity.
